Thames Chase is managed by Thames Chase Trust, a charity that is supported by the Friends – volunteers who give many hours to help maintain a community service that complements the surroundings.

• Thames Chase is a 40-year project that is half-way through completion and during that time more than 1.5 new trees have been planted. Many traditional countryside skills are used to manage the forest including coppicing and hedge laying.

• Thames Chase is only one of eight community forests in England and is currently financially supported by Havering, Thurrock and Essex local authorities.

• Families and community groups can take advantage of our all-weather paths, catering, parking and generally easy access for all ages and abilities.

• Young mums enjoy safe walking, free play spaces and comfortable indoor accommodation that incorporates baby changing facilities, somewhere to draw and to play.

• Teachers make the most of our green spaces, habitats, meadows and wildlife for environmental study, along with facilities for in-door study and in-house catering

• For the private sector we offer an environment that is good for business and includes free wi-fi.

• Regular visitors already take advantage of walking groups, yoga classes, community markets, jewellery workshops, afternoon tea packages.

• The Forest Centre plays host to weddings, summer music festivals and special birthdays for memorable days and evenings outdoors and in.
