The Thames Chase Project of regenerating green spaces is now run almost entirely by volunteers. Under the guidance of the Thames Chase Trust we can offer a wide variety of opportunities for volunteering including:
• Conservation work
• Education and children's activities
• Event and fundraising
• Running the Forest Centre
Conservation - a chance to get out in the open and work as a team, hedge trimming, pond/stream cleaning, brush clearing, litter picking, hide building etc. These teams work anywhere throughout the community forest on Tuesdays and Thursdays each week.
Education and children's activities - working with schools, youth groups, wildlife club, holiday playscheme, etc using the Broadfield's site.
Event and fundraising - helping to organise and run a wide variety of events to help to sustain the Forest Centre and the regeneration work.
Running the Forest Centre - as the hub of the Community Forest, many skills are needed to run a complex, comprising of a modern visitor centre and a group of Grade II listed farm buildings. The complex includes offices, an education centre, stables and barns and is used seven days a week.
If you are interested in joining our dedicated team of volunteers, please contact the Visitor Centre on 01708 642970 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
