South Essex Catchment Partnership

Overview of the catchment

The South Essex (SE) catchment is focused on the Mardyke river and its multiple tributaries to the west of the catchment, together with a number of small Thames Estuary tributaries to the east.
Below you can see a map of the Thames Chase Community Forest, overlaid with a map of the SE Catchment area.

The SE Catchment Partnership provides a platform for co-operative working between local organisations, government bodies and community groups in order to achieve river improvements which benefit people and wildlife across the three river catchments it spans.

Our vision: to enhance, conserve and improve the health of the water environment in the South Essex catchment for the benefit of people and wildlife now and for future generations.
