A comprehensive environmental education service is delivered
by dedicated staff at the Thames Chase Forest Centre.
This service ranges from formal, National Curriculum-linked
work with schools through to school holiday playschemes
and activity sessions for cubs, brownies and other youth
groups. We also offer exciting and innovative childrens
birthday parties! For more information about all of
these opportunities, select from the menu on the left

All activities carry charges to cover delivery time.
For any specific questions regarding costs or opportunities
available, please contact us either by email or telephone on 01708 642960.
Environmental education at Thames Chase is delivered
from the Education Room a glass-fronted conversion
of the sites 1840s Cart Shed. Timber beams
dating back to late medieval times provide a stunning
backdrop to seating for 30-40 children. Larger groups
and a wet weather contingency are catered for by the
adjoining seventeenth century Broadfields Barn.
Additionally, the surrounding 56ha site provides a magnificent
outdoor classroom; with new woodlands, meadows and ponds
accessed from surfaced paths providing a wide range
of habitats to explore. And everyone using the Education
Room also has access to the Thames
Chase Forest Centre.
Particularly for schools, there is on-site coach parking
and a courtyard in front of the Education Room for picnics
and lunch-time games.
Environmental education is also delivered by other site
managers within Thames Chase, including Davy Down, Stubbers
Outdoor Adventure Centre, Thorndon and Belhus Woods
Country Parks, and the London Borough of Barking and
Dagenham Ranger Service. |
