Broadfields Barn
Leave the modern Forest Centre through the glazed
link, and you step back in time to enter the stunning
Broadfields Barn. This seventeenth century, Grade
II listed Essex Barn is one of the best preserved
in the London area.
Constructed from elm beams
originally cut from local hedgerows, the Barn is a
stunning contrast to the Forest Centre building. Just
stand and admire this magnificent cathedral-like building,
and consider how a farmer created it from local trees
400 years ago.
