The Thames Chase Volunteers

We love it when people donate their time to helping us. Our volunteers are the lifeblood of our success here at Thames Chase and our conservation volunteers were even shortlisted for the Mayor of London’s Volunteering team of the year in 2019. The hard work they do in rejuvenating and preserving the Community Forest, hosting event, educating children and running the Forest Centre is unparalleled in ensuring a legacy is left for the future. Without them, we would simply not be able to deliver the wonderful services that we provide.

Anyone can volunteer as we have a wide variety of opportunities and can usually match your interests regardless of background or experience.  We just ask for a few hours each week or a commintment to support planned activities.

Volunteering opportunities or those who wish to become involved include:

Conservation Work- Join one or two teams working in the open under a trained leader to carryout an array of duties throughout the Community Forest.  These teams are at the heart of the many improvements and developments seen in the Community Forest.

Clerical Support- Our clerical volunteers offer support and assistance with a wide range of administrative tasks such as computing and note taking to guarantee that the charity is running effectively.

Visitor Centre Reception- Volunteers working on reception are the welcoming faces in our Visitor’s Centre. They help to manage and maintain the reception area whilst providing courteous help when it’s needed. They run the Visitor Centre Shop.

Events Assistance- Our events volunteers assist with our varied programme of events, providing support to all.

Fund Raising- Help to producing, promote and carry out various fund raising activities which occur in the community forest and local area.

Education Volunteers- We are very proud of our education volunteers who provide an enthusiastic learning environment for both children and adults.
