2020 marks 30 years of the Thames Chase Community Forest

Over the last 30 years, we have delivered on our promise of ‘Transforming landscapes, transforming lives’, but we need your help to continue creating and restoring green spaces across Essex and East London for the next 30 years and beyond.

Your contributions have already helped us to:

  • Plant over 2 million trees across the 40 square miles of the community forest
  • Gain 70% increase in woodlands through new planting
  • Welcome over 100,000 visitors each year to the Broadfields site alone
  • Plant over 800 hectares of non-woodland habitat for our precious wildlife
  • Run outreach programmes with young people to understand and protect the natural landscape

With your continuing support we hope to:

  • Work with Forestry England to get new play equipment to replace what had to be decommissioned last year and buy more adapted bicycles
  • Develop the tree nursery so we can continue planting native trees long into the future
  • Restore and maintain our rare historic buildings
  • Make sure the local community and wildlife have access to green space for the next 30 years and beyond
