The Thames Chase Partnership

The Formal Partnership
The Formal Partnership consists of a local partnership of five local authorities:

Essex County Council

Brentwood Borough Council
Thurrock Council London Borough of Havering
London Borough of Barking and Dagenham

This local partnership is supported by the Forestry Commission, as the national agency that promotes community forestry.

Core funding of the Thames Chase Team is currently provided by the five local authorities and the Forestry Commission. However, on an agreed tapered funding reduction, the Forstry Commission funding will be totally withdrawn after March 2007. Hence, new core funding mechanisms are currently being established for Thames Chase, and will include the creation of a Thames Chase Trust. This charitable trust will enable us to attract funding that is currently only available to the charitable sector; as well as presenting operational opportunities otherwise unavailable to us.
