2017 Cycle hire will be open Weekends, Thursday Afternoons & School Holidays from 1st April to 29th October 2017.

We will be adding to our cycle hire season by opening cycle hire on Thursday afternoons during term time from 1pm to 3:30pm until the end of October.  You can enjoy the community forest by cycling on the surfaced paths at the Broadfields site for £3 for 1/2 hour of £5 for 1 hour.

These afternoons are open to all and as term time is quieter it would be ideal for those who have not cycled for a while or would like to try cycling for the first time.

This project is a part of the Trusts partnership work in supporting local people to get out into the countryside and to use it to improve their general health and well-being.

Cycle hire will be available 10.30 – 4pm weekends, thursday afternoons and school holidays.

There is an option to purchase six sessions in advance! We will supply a passport that you can take to straight the cycle hire point, saving having to go to the visitor centre to pay each time. You will be able to purchase ½ hour and 1 hour sessions.

As last year, you will be able to hire cycles to ride around the Broadfields site from as little as £3.00 for half an hour and £5.00 for an hour for all bikes. Cycle helmets are supplied for free. You now have the option to print the cycle hire agreement (right hand side of this page) and fill it in at your leisure, just click on the link. This will save you time at the cycle hire point when hiring your bikes.

We have available adult bikes, Child bikes, 2 Buggies, 1 Tandem and 1 Tagalong. We are being joined again by the Positive Parents Outreach Project who have adapted cycles available for hire. We really pleased to be supporting this brilliant project for children with special needs.

These cycling projects are provided as part of the trusts health and wellbeing program and we will be holding special event cycling days in the summer so look out for those.

There are adult and children’s cycles, 1 tag-a-long, 1 tandem and for little ones, 2 buggys attached to an adult cycle.
